Donut Palace is the perfect spot in Port Aransas for a delicious, quick-serve breakfast. As the name might suggest, Donut Palace is the go-to bakery in the area for fantastic, fresh donuts. However, their menu isn’t just for those with a sweet tooth. You’ll also find a variety of breakfast sandwiches to complement their donuts, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters. Open daily from 5:30am until 12:30pm, they specialize in breakfast and offer up some of the best early morning bites in the area. Coach’s Island Grill
Sometimes a classic breakfast is classic for a reason, and at Coach’s Island Grill you will find a delightful menu filled with your favorite American breakfast items. Order three-eggs omelets, steak and eggs, or a variety of items a la carte, but no matter what you order it is sure to be delicious. Don’t see your favorite breakfast item on the menu? Simply ask your server and see what the kitchen can whip up for you! Here, the owner goes by the nickname of “Coach,” the staff prides itself of great service, and the sports theme simply adds to the homey feel of the restaurant. San Juan Restaurant
Claiming to have “the best Mexican food north of the border,” San Juan is the perfect choice for great Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! On their breakfast menu you can order your huevos (eggs), just about any way you could imagine from the classic huevos rancheros to more unique options such as huevos con nopalitos (eggs with cactus) and huevos con chicharron (eggs with pork rinds). You can also choose from ordering your meal as a plate or as a burrito or taquito. Although they also serve up American-style breakfast offerings, such as pancakes and biscuits, naturally their Mexican options are where they shine. Best of all, nothing on their menu is over $10, so you are getting a great deal as well! San Juan Restaurants serves breakfast from 6am to 11am daily.
Coffee Waves
Listed as the best coffee joint in town, and a recipient of the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for 2021, Coffee Waves is a must visit breakfast spot in Port Aransas. Open from 7am to 7pm daily, Coffee Waves is a great spot to visit for your morning cup of Joe, or an afternoon pick me up. Their menu is filled with a variety of hand-crafted coffee drinks, such as espresso, lattes, and macchiatos. Not a coffee drinker? You won’t be left out! They serve a variety of non-coffee beverages, including tea, hot chocolate, and fruit smoothies. Breakfast here is great for grab and go, with items such as breakfast sandwiches and fresh pastries. If you stop by in the afternoon or early evening you are literally in for a treat, as the gelato here is a local favorite! House-made weekly, Coffee Waves serves up a daily rotation of up to 18 flavors that are a can’t-miss treat in Port Aransas.
